Rules and Regulations

LAWS OF TRINIDAD & TOBAGO, GAMBLING & BETTING ACT. CHAPTER 11:19

 

28
(1) ”EXCEPT” in accordance with the provision of the Act no person shall -
(a)   Whether on his own account or as a servant or agent to any person on the business of receiving or negotiating bets or conducting pool betting operations: or
(b)   By way of business in any manner hold himself out, or permit himself to be held out, as a person who receives or negotiates bets or conducts such operations.

 

 

(3) (A)  A person who contravenes the provisions of sub section (1) is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of fifty thousand dollars, or to imprisonment for two (2) years.
(4)  A person who places or negotiates a bet with another person who is in contravention of sub section (1) is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of five thousand dollars, or to imprisonment for three (3) months.

 

RULES OF RACING BOOKMAKERS

(1) Any person who takes or attempts to take bets or conduct the business of a bookmaker in the enclosure of a licenced racecourse may be excluded from the premises by the Stewards and shall be reported to the Racing Authority and any such person may be warned off all racecourses or may be declared a disqualified person, as the Racing Authority thinks fit.

 

(2) Any person found in any enclosure of a licenced racecourse placing a bet with any person other than the person or organization holding the Betting Licence in respect of the licensed racecourse shall be excluded forthwith from the premises by the Stewards and shall be reported to the Racing Authority and any such person may be warned off all racecourses or may be declared a disqualified person, as the Racing Authority thinks fit.

(3) The use of public, cellular or any other kind of telephone at the race courses is prohibited unless the consent of the Steward is obtained.

(4) Any person who is found using a public, cellular or any other kind of telephone, or communicating device without the consent of the Stewards or in connection with illegal wagering or the transmission of any kind of information regarding odds, race results or other gambling information, shall be reported to the Authority and that person may be warned off all race courses or may be declared a disqualified person by the Authority.
